Montreal

When I went to Montreal Canada I thought that I would have to rely wholly on my terrible French to get me through, but I soon realized that the city is totally bilingual and that most signs also come in English although they are all in parenthesis or in small lettering.

There were several places that I found interesting in this city. I especially enjoyed visiting the Jean Talon market and eating there was an awesome experience. We ate fresh seafood.

We found Montreal to be quite interesting with its great number of underground stores that are all connected through tunnels. These must have been designed to avoid the harsh winters of the area. Montreal , although located in Canada has a truly European feel to it.
The places you want to experience are the Old Montreal better known als Le vieux Montreal and is the oldest part of the city. Walking around in this part of the city reminds you of what the old Ville - Marie settlement must have been like. The age of most of the buildings in this area of the city range from about the 17th century to the early 20th part to of the century. This is a true e treasure. You should also visit the Basilica of Notre Dame which is one of the largest cathedrals in North America.
