After closing at the end of the eighties, things looked bleak for this beautiful old building. Some determined locals have poured themselves into its re-development and their passion has been rewarded. Open since 2001, the Outremont puts on a varied program of Theatre and music.

International Jazz Festival
The largest festival in a packed and enthusiastic calendar is the International Jazz festival each summer. Named in the Guiness book of records as the largest jazz festival in the world, it expects to attract 2 million jazz cats this year who will enjoy watching 3,000 different artists from 30 different countries around the globe. International des Feux Loto-Québec fireworks competition
Eight international teams of fireworks bods will light up the night sky of Montreal this year hoping to win one of the coveted Jupiter awards. The fireworks are set to music ranging from classic to techno, and can be seen from all over the city or even from cruise ships at sea.
